Pattern Explosion

Just as an aside, does anyone else agree with the fact that some lotions just don’t work well on your hands for knitting? Some are just too greasy for me.

Now, I’ve officially gone over some edge – I’m sure there is a named diagnosis for this, and the “Yarn Harlot”:http://www.yarnharlot.com probably discusses it in “her bookbookbook”:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1580175899/qid=1117086773/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/002-4860301-0288832?v=glance&n=507846 that I plan to buy here locally with “this coupon.”:http://f.chtah.com/i/9/276579820/dgystorecoupon_519.html
How can I pass up such a deal – I’ve been wanting to get it for awhile, and

bq. _Luck/Good Fortune/Success is when opportunity meets preparation._

So I’m prepared to take the opportunity to take up this fortunate circumstance!

But, I digress….. my point was that after printing OVER FIFTY different patterns off the net, besides the ones I’ve picked up here and there, and all of the great ones in the trial issue of “Interweave Knits”:http://www.interweave.com/knit/ that just came the other day, and all of the patterns in “SnB Nation”:http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0761135901/qid=1117089643/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/002-4860301-0288832 that my dear, sweet, knitting-enabling and enabled 14yo picked up for me at the library – I’m just overwhelmed!
As is clear from my _Current Progress_ section on the sidebar there, I have plenty of WIP’s – I’m _TRYING_ to limit myself to 7 of them at a time – wish me luck!

Focus, focus, focus – not one of my strengths. I’m constantly -scatterbrained- multi-tasking, it’s just my nature and my lifestyle (number of children taken into account, of course), as it is. Now this is my stress-release – my time for relaxation. Or as I read somewhere today, “here”:http://marniemaclean.com/words/words.html I believe, something to the effect of: _’my excuse to be lazy and productive at the same time!’_ – Love it!

On other fronts, will there be an end soon to everything breaking down around here? I know good things happen in threes, some say, but we’re beyond threes and these are not good things. So far, the van, the washing machine, the refrigerator and the air conditioner are either completely down or down for the count. With 8 people in this house, and summer around the corner here in the _’Armpit of America’,_ we just cannot do without any of these things for very long without complete anarchy and chaos ensuing even more than the usual amount. Not to mention the fact that we are hoping and praying for a summer visit from our dear friends from California (back home) – it’s a long overdue visit, almost 5 years! I did get to see them 2 years ago when I went back for “Grammie”:http://starzabove.com/article/134/she-has-her-wings but the kids haven’t seen them since we relocated out here to the midwest 5 years ago this coming summer. It’s a cool situation really: I went to grade school with Julie, she has 5 kids also, and her oldest is a boy, like mine, just a few years older, and they get along well- her eldest daughter is only months younger than mine, and they are as best friends as 2 girls can be so far from each other for so long – and her next daughter is only months younger than my next, and they are as best friends as 2 girls can be so far for so long, as well. Her next two, a girl and a boy, to my two girls, are both older (but not much) but I just know they will get along super, too. And Julie and I are dear, dear friends. So comfy with one another. I yearn to just ‘hang out’ with a girlfriend. Julie and I had just gotten into a bit of a routine of driving north to _’the city’_ to do grocery shopping, eat out, and maybe catch a movie about once a month right before we moved out here. She’s wanted to come out for a visit, and I’ve wanted her to, our whole family has, ever since. Things just haven’t fallen into place, so far, and things are so close to happening this time that I’m terribly afraid of getting my hopes up – but I’m afraid it’s too late for that. So, here’s hopin’ and prayin’….. Good night.
