Another dear friend Angela, just suffered the loss of her father a few years ago. Her dad, Harold Stanford, technically survived cancer of the esophagus in early 2001, only to die of a heart attack in November, 2001, though it is suspected that the radiation to his chest, to fight off the cancer, was what weakened his heart.
Losing your father must be hard enough, but to lose him even earlier than we normally have to deal with this kind of loss, to a disease that we are still trying to understand completely…..
