Our dear friend Jill, up in Canada VERY recently related the loss of a local, hockey player’s Dad. Mark lost his dad, Ron Scriver, only a couple of weeks after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
bq. _Ron was well known throughout the University community here in Canada and he died 2 days before Mark was to receive his diploma from the University…
And how bittersweet –
bq. _the University came and presented it(Mark’s diploma) during the funeral, to everyone’s surprise, so Ron could be there in some way.
His dad just missed seeing a very important day in Mark’s life. A time that should have been for celebration of acheivement, not for mourning the loss, or as they did, celebrating the life, of a loved one, lost to the plague – cancer.
p=. _*I can only imagine….*_
