Lost chickens, and bouts with depression, mixed with excitement

So we were missing chickens this morning, finally the neighbor brought one badly mangled rooster over – we’re not sure if he’ll make it. Then some of them wandered in from the property 2 lots over (some that mom will be buying). But we are still missing 2 hens and a rooster. I only wanted laying hens. Fresh eggs. With a large family, they would sure come in handy. So we are down to 1 or 2 hens and a mess of chicken ‘n dumpling- roosters (especially Joe the most dominant rooster, who will hereby be known as DINNER, after he attacked my feet twice today while I was out chicken-hunting).

I’ve been pretty bummed. Just this and that. And my creative outlet. You know, my right arm that I’ve already whined about. That only makes mattes worse.

Then there is the excitement about mom & stepdad making the offer on the house/lake/property next door.

I’m just a mixed up mess.
