Mountain Dew and Pickle Juice

Ever noticed how much they look alike?
My son agrees, wholeheartedly, however involuntarily.
I played a practical joke on him. He’s too smart to catch on April Fool’s day, so I took an opportunity when it presented itself, and gave him a glass of what he thought was his favorite drink, Mt. Dew. Well, unfortunately for him I had just emptied the pickle jar into a glass, instead. I’m sorry, but it was hilarious. I couldn’t look at him when I handed him the glass and stood stifling my laughter in the kitchen, behind the stairwell, watching & waiting, for him to take the drink. He did, and promptly rushed to the kitchen sink to spit it out where he found me in tears and laughing so hard I could hardly stand.
A little background before you judge me cruel, but he is the oldest of my children, and the only boy, so he does his fair share of picking on his little sisters. I feel I need to keep him on his toes.
