First, the good news – I was able to hold a BABY last week! And not only did I hold her, but within 2 minutes she was asleep on my shoulder! Okay, in unison:
p=. _Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!_
It was like she felt the groove on my shoulder from the gazillion times that a baby has fallen asleep on that shoulder. I’ve been told that I have a gift for putting babies to sleep on my shoulder. I think it’s a gift that I receive every time that it happens. It just melts my heart. I was teaching knitting class, and the baby belonged to one of my students. So I just *had* to hold her, sleeping in my arms, for the rest of the class. The mom needed to knit you know!
I was up late the other night. Knitting? No. Working on an _English Synthesis._ Argh! My college boy needed some support, encouragement, and guidance. It was sort of rewarding, but very exhausting! He has GOT to learn to not put these things off until the night before, despite the poor example that I’ve set for him!
Have you noticed that the leaves are starting to change? I did. Barely. And with the temps here headed back up towards 89 degrees – oy. I’m ready for my favorite season already.
I have been knitting, madly.

I currently have 2 pairs of socks, 2 stockings, and a dishcloth on the needles. This in addition to the _Wicked Weather Sweater_ that I refuse to work on again until we are for sure in the 70 degree or cooler season.
