I’m a new spinner. Everything I have spun so far added up is probably not a full pound. So, what was I thinking attempting to spin 2 pounds!?!? I need to learn to set more realistic goals.
A couple of days ago, I personally revised my goal to a pound. If I hadn’t done a whole pound in several months, spinning a full pound of yarn in just 23 days was much more realistic than expecting myself to spin 2 pounds. So, I decided that one pound would be an accomplishment. It’s still more than I’ve done all together, and I’d be doing it in just a few weeks.
So in the past two days, including a late night last night and a wonderful husband that cooked a great anniversary dinner for Mom & amp; Don today so that I had time to spin, I completed my revised goal. I spun 2 more bobbins of the Finn roving – for a total of 4.7 oz. and I spun another bobbin of that beautiful green and white wool/silk blend top – weighing 1.4 oz. My grand total spun from July 1st to July 23rd is 17 and 1/2 oz or 1 lb. 1 1/2 oz!
I may not have achieved the ‘yellow jersey’, or reached the finish line – but I did reach beyond myself. I’m okay with that.
Congrats to all participants that reached their goals, and to those who kept on racing!
