” A Happy Birthday to Winnie the Pooh! A.A.Milne’s book was published 77 years ago today in England. Where would we be without the wisdom of the bear with very little brain? (i.e. “I increase my appetite when I exercise.” just to mention one!) How would we know how to handle life’s problems without Eeyore and Owl to point them out and explain them, respectively? Or facing the fear’s of being small, like Piglet? We’ve all learned self-sufficiency from Rabbit, who grows his own food. Gopher helped us all learn how to whistle. And Kanga and Roo proved how special the mother/child bond is. Then, of course, there’s Tigger, who believes in himself and thinks he’s wonderful, who sparks spontaneity in all of us, but who also teaches us to maybe think before we bounce…as it might hurt someone when we land on them unexpectedly! The world is a better place for having the 100 Acre Wood.
