Well, this may date me, (would you believe I started having kids at 10yo? LOL, no? okay ) but my first child, my only son, my first baby, my boy, is 15 years old today.
Makes me sad.
Makes me sentimental.
For some reason, 13 and 14 sounds like barely a teenager, still very young.
But 15, that seems like full-fledged teenager.
Now, despite the fact that he passed me up in height already, he will always be my little boy. Though, being a teenage boy, he just scoffs at me when I say that, LOL.
So, now he is old enough to get a driver’s permit. Fortunately he’d have to take a class at a driving school, it costs somewhere in the range of $300, and we’ve told him he has to pay for at least half of that and half of the raise in insurance, so that buys me a little time. We figure if he can do that, he is responsible enough to start learning how to drive.
Oh, a chill just went up my spine, picturing him behind the wheel on the expressway! Although, at first he’ll learn on country backroads. I learned how to drive on the Avenue of the Giants; a narrow, 2-lane (1 each direction), road that winds between GIGANTIC, unforgiving, Redwood trees. Good way to start.
Sigh……
my baby. Happy Birthday Boy!
15 already? You have to be 16 up here to get a learner’s permit. Want to send up to live with me for a year
