I just wrote a bunch of adjectives on a piece of paper.
I wish I could tear it up, throw it away and not feel them about myself ever again.
I’d settle for just not feeling them so much and so often.

The hardest programming to overcome is that which we say in our own heads, repeatedly, especially over many years of our lives.

It’s a vicious cycle – one that must be broken, for their sake.

Another Fall Saturday Work Day

10/31/2009 10:29 AM

Today's focus will be on starting the job of finishing up the insides of our addition. It's getting colder! Much wiring, insulation and framing will ensue!

First we have to do some shifting-of-the-stuff, since we are using the addition as our bedrooms already. Then, after a trip to town for supplies He will start framing in a wall and loft around our room. And then will come the wiring and insulation.

Next week we'll make another supply run and probably do more insulation and then start with the drywall to cover it for now. Eventually we'll have self-milled wood paneling on our walls, but that takes time. That kind of time will also see the temporary linoleum replaced with hardwood flooring.

Next on the agenda will be the joining rooms, a room-size breezeway and 2 bedrooms, to join the 2 cabins into one house. It'll still be a 'Little House on a Big Planet' but it will be enough for us!

I am so very tired

Too tired to complain. Too tired to think. Too tired to do anything but get through the day. Too tired to be up any later than I already am.

Goodnight!

Grocery Shopping Via The Son

07/25/2009 01:46 PM

Yeah, he’s at the grocery store, so I can be here blogging. On the one hand it’s great that he’s willing. On the other hand it’s kind of frustrating shopping through the phone via the Son.

I like to do a big grocery shopping once or twice a month- once a week at the most, filling in here and there with the essentials or things that we missed. With the way life has been lately it’s been shopping every few days sometimes just for a day or two.

What type of grocery shopper are you? All-at-once-stock-it-up or hit the grocery store daily?

Do you know what happens when I fall asleep before 11 p.m.?
I wake up at 3:30 a.m. unable to go back to sleep.

But, an hour later I’m going to give it a try – wish me luck!

If that doesn’t make me feel old…. or accomplished.

So, not so hot. It appears that I’m mostly going to retread.

Tomorrow’s goals:

Go for a walk
Dock lamb #3’s tail
Project work
Spin
Knit
Water garden
Plant some more in the garden
Help sister put up her mailbox
Finish PresidentsPark.com
Research recycling some barn wood
Harass the phone company for not showing up for 2 days as promised
Call clinic to check on allergy serums

Watching the trends of my goal lists, what gets done and what doesn’t, is sort of enlightening. Now, the trick will be to put these observations to work for me.

I woke up with a horrible sinus headache. Lack of ZyrtecD, lack of sleep and missing my shots last week are all contributors to weakening me against my allergies, I am sure. Zyrtec D has been acquired, I’m planning to go to sleep soon, and I’ll go for my shots Friday, so long as my serum has been received at the clinic that I go to for my shots – which are monthly now – Yay!!!

Quite a few things have sprouted in the garden: pumpkins, cantelope, watermelon, red/yellow onions, popcorn, cucumbers, lemon cucumbers, yellow straight neck squash, zucchini squash, beans and radishes. Several things have not sprouted and need to be re-seeded: carrots, spinach, green onions, and possible peas.

We picked up a round bale of hay for the horses and moved them back into the upper pasture. Some headway was made on expanding the lower pasture, but not much. The chickens have a larger, renovated coop. And we have added Guinea fowl chicks to our menagerie, 4 of them. I’ll try and get a photo of them tomorrow. I keep reading that they are awesome at eating tic and other bugs – Yay!

I’m off to hopefully wrap up this meandering research project that is a couple of days over due and get some sleep. Tomorrow afternoon/evening will be spent with my 2 youngest nephews after a fairly busy day of project work. Good Night!

2 exhausted to write

That pretty much says it all. I’ll update more tomorrow. Everything will hopefully make more sense then.
