Life fades from red to blue

Well, the yarn I’m using for Angel’s socks does anyhoo. I’ve cast-on for this month’s Sock-of-the-Month socks (many times actually) and I really like the “Aloha cast-on method”:http://www.queenkahuna-creations.com/crazytoesandheels_alohacaston.pdf
very much! It takes quite a few pages to display the concept, and at first I was skeptical that such a long explanation was needed for something that I would find ‘_a breeze._’ But, alas, I must agree. And I love how Queen Kahuna also shows it in a slightly easier-to-understand way and then you figure out the quicker way once you’ve learned it.

I’m going to follow the the “Two at Once Toe-up Pattern”:http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Projects_Display_Yarn.aspx?itemid=50417220&yarnid=5420135 from “Knitpicks”:http://www.knitpicks.com for the rest of the sock, except that I’ll be magic loopin’ it instead of using 2 circulars.

So without further ado, here’s my tiny bit of progress:

Isn’t that some pretty yarn? It’s some new stuff I’m _trying out_. It gently fades from one color to the other and then back. I’m totally excited to see how it knits up. Oh, and the reason that each ball looks so different is that I rewound one of them from the inside out in a slight attempt to match color blends on the two socks. Something tells me that it was a futile attempt, but at least the 2 toes will be similar!
